Harvest season in the volcanic highlands of Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak.
The Coffee Capital of the World
Millions of years ago, volcanic eruptions blanketed Vietnam's Central Highlands in layers of basalt — a mineral-rich, porous red soil that would prove to be the most fertile ground for Robusta coffee on Earth.
At 500 meters above sea level, Buon Ma Thuot sits in a microclimate of monsoon rains and cool highland nights. In the Ê Đê language, "Buôn" means village, and "Ama Thuột" means "Father of Thuột" — the legendary chieftain who founded this highland civilization along the Ea Tam stream.
In 1915, French colonists established the first coffee plantations here. The largest — CADA (Compagnie Agricole D'Asie), founded in 1922 — became the most significant coffee estate in all of Indochina. Today it stands as a National Historical Monument.
The "Cà phê Buôn Ma Thuột" Geographical Indication is now legally protected in 32 countries, including all 27 EU member states. This certifies that the soil, climate, and craft of this specific region produce Robusta with an extraordinarily dense structure and 2.0–2.5% caffeine content — the backbone of espresso blends worldwide.

Building a Digital Coffee Ecosystem
Our mission is to elevate Vietnamese coffee value worldwide — connecting farms, exporters, roasters, and buyers through technology, data, and trust.
In 1996, Đặng Lê Nguyên Vũ set out from Buon Ma Thuot with a dream that the world would one day know this city's name. Called "The Coffee King" by National Geographic, he built the Trung Nguyên empire and opened the World Coffee Museum — housing 10,000+ artifacts — right here in Buon Ma Thuot.
Vietnam exports $8.4 billion worth of coffee annually, yet much of this value is captured by foreign roasters. Our platform aims to change that — giving Vietnamese coffee producers direct access to global markets with fair pricing, transparent data, and professional trade infrastructure.
Through our Market Data Hub, Coffee Encyclopedia, and B2B marketplace, we're building the digital infrastructure that the Vietnam coffee industry deserves.
